Get to Know Us
Sun Valley is home to two ski mountains and a resort village. Upon arrival you can go car-less with free town - and resort-wide buses, all equipped with ski racks.
Bald Mountain’s 100+ varied runs stretch over 2,054 acres to the edges of the Sawtooth National Forest. Featuring a famously-consistent pitch and diverse terrain, “Baldy” has earned a reputation as one of the world’s finest ski mountains for skiers and boarders alike. With five deluxe day lodges—three of which have stunning 360-degree views—you can relax and rejuvenate, sip a steaming drink by the fireplace, or listen to live music during our weekly après ski concerts. Roundhouse Gondola tops out at The Roundhouse restaurant, perched 7,700 feet up the mountain, with famous fondue and spectacular views.
Dollar Mountain is the perfect place to get acclimated to downhill sports for both kids and adults, with gentle slopes suited to beginners. Long known as one of the best learning mountains in Idaho, Dollar now has seven different progression parks for every stage of instruction, from “enhanced terrain” for early-learners to larger, flow-style parks and features for the pros. Regardless of your skill level, you’ll find a fun and inclusive atmosphere on this family-friendly hill. Keep an eye on our DollarLIVE events calendar for rail jams, pond skims, big air competitions, or appearances by Sunny the Bear!

Where to Eat & Drink
No matter what brings you to the mountains, alpine living works up an appetite. Come explore Sun Valley’s distinctive restaurants for a look at what’s available when you’re hungry.
Perched atop the Roundhouse Gondola on Baldy, the Roundhouse has been serving up memorable meals, soul-warming drinks, stunning views, fondue by the fire and good cheer since 1939.
When the day is done on the slopes, Averell's is calling, just ski on over. If you've been in town, grab a lift up on the gondola, take a seat and enjoy one of the best views in the valley.
Enjoy a wide selection of cocktails and craft beer on tap, as well as a crowd-pleasing menu of classic American favorites—hearty cheeseburgers, chicken wings, pizza and family-style salads. Four big screen televisions and ample seating make it the perfect place for your group to gather on game day.
Trail Creek Cabin
Trail Creek Cabin is Sun Valley’s destination for romantic dining in a rustic, early-Western atmosphere. Originally built in 1937, this mountain-style log cabin-turned-restaurant sits right next to the rushing waters of Trail Creek, with a jaw-dropping view of Bald Mountain in the distance.
Sun Valley’s original restaurant, The Ram has been warming and welcoming diners since 1937. This rustic-yet-elegant dinner house has been recently modernized, while still preserving its historic charm.
Glide in to Seattle Ridge Lodge, right atop the slopes, and enjoy a bite and beverage when the midday munchies set in. Specializing in wood-fired fare, this restaurant offers grilled steaks and fish, burgers you won’t believe and barbecue to write home about, along with a large variety of food to grab on the go.
