Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking on Bald Mountain

With over 400 miles of singletrack spread throughout the valley, the mountain biking is some of the best and most scenic in the country. Bald Mountain now boasts America's longest purpose built downhill and 3,100 feet of thrilling lift accessed trails. For a milder, family-friendly expereince, head to the White Clouds trail network or meander through town along the leafy Wood River Trail, with over 30 paved miles to explore. First time mountain biking? Check out our First Timer's Guide.

Bald Mountain Access

While you can hike or bike up Bald Mountain from multiple points, the only lift-served access is located at River Run Plaza (tickets available here and at the River Run Ticket Office). From here you can load your bike on the state-of-the-art gondola, traveling 2,000 vertical feet in eight minutes.  You can load your bike on the Christmas quad chairlift all the way to the top, or take a few laps on the lower half of the mountain. The hours of operation are from 9am-4pm, the last ride to the top for bikers, on Christmas chair, is at 3:45pm. Lifts open for mountain biking on June 26 and will be open Thursday-Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

Interested in hiking or running on Bald Mountain? Check out our Hiking & Running page!

All trails will be open with the exception of Cold Springs Trail and the Warm Springs Trail just above the Traverse Trail (see map below for reference). Both of these trails are closed due to elk calving restrictions and will open July 1st.
